The Company
CBA Recording is based in Virginia and provides a variety of services including live and session recording, CD design and manufacturing, audio transfers and mastering, and technical consulting. Our primary focus is high quality on-site recording. We have worked with a range of clientele such as large format orchestras and contemporary solo artists in gorgeous spaces like churches and concert halls. We also maintain a mixing suite for editing and mastering audio. If you are interested in releasing an album, CBA Recording can help you every step of the way.
The Owner
The Philosophy
We maintain top-of-line line gear, but our best assests are patience and a good attitude. We geniunely enjoy the process of recording and we strive to be valuable members of the creative and artistic community. The Methodology
With CBA Recording, audio is never mixed down on the spot. All your music is tracked directly to a digital audio workstation and mixed after the show. Mixdown not only includes balance, compression, reverb, and other effects, but also the process of cutting the audio into a listenable CD. Different portions of your performance need to be mixed differently, and a "real-time" mixdown is always one-step behind the musical changes. Post-concert mixing allows us to modify the individual tracks in order to tailor your mix to your goals.Accessibility
Two of our five recording rigs are ultra-portable mid-grade kits. We use these kits to make recordings more affordable for ensembles looking to create archival recordings (instead of a commericial release) and for students looking to record recitals. Regardless of the rig, every client receives the same editing treatment as a professional ensemble.
